Conflicts of Interest

Jurnal Al-Fatih Global Mulia is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of objectivity, integrity, and transparency in scholarly publishing. This policy outlines the procedures for identifying, disclosing, and managing potential conflicts of interest involving authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher, in full alignment with the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Scope of Conflicts of Interest

A conflict of interest occurs when personal, financial, institutional, or academic relationships potentially bias or compromise the objectivity, decision-making, or scientific rigor of research design, peer review, editing, or publication processes.

2. Mandatory Disclosure Requirements

All participants in the publication process must openly declare any real or perceived conflicts of interest, including:

  • Financial Interests: Research funding, grants, corporate sponsorships, employment, consultancies, or commercial shareholdings connected to the research.

  • Personal & Academic Ties: Close personal relationships, institutional competition, prior research collaborations, or co-authorships that may impair impartiality.

  • Intellectual Property: Ownership of patents, copyrights, or proprietary technologies that could be impacted by the publication of the research.

3. Management Procedures

  • For Authors: Authors must include a clear conflict of interest disclosure statement upon submission. Should undisclosed conflicts arise post-publication, authors must notify the editorial board immediately to issue an appropriate correction (corrigendum) or retraction.

  • For Reviewers: Reviewers must decline invitations to evaluate manuscripts if a conflict of interest threatens their impartiality. If a conflict is identified during the review process, the reviewer must recuse themselves immediately.

  • For Editors and Editorial Staff: Editors are strictly prohibited from handling submissions where personal, institutional, or financial conflicts exist. System access and editorial control will be reassigned to neutral editorial members for any manuscript authored or co-authored by an editor.

4. Publication and Transparency

All formal conflict-of-interest declarations will be published transparently alongside the final published article. Any allegations of undisclosed conflicts of interest will be thoroughly investigated according to COPE guidelines.
